Innovative Instructional Techniques

Here at Redwood Early Childhood Center we use a Reggio inspired teaching/learning approach. Your children will be learning using hands-on experiences. They will learn from each other, and from the adults around them. This curriculum is meaningful, child-centered, and geared to address children's interests and developmental and cultural needs. As your child's teachers, we will provide materials and interactions to stimulate the emergence of your child's ideas and understandings. As the children engage, the teachers observe, offer guidance, and work with children in further pursuing their interests.

PTA

First PTA meeting, Thursday September 1st at 5:30pm!!!  The meeting will be held in the cafeteria at Redwood.  Don't forget to join PTA for $4.00.  If all of our 20 children have a least one family member sign up we get an ICE CREAM party!!!

This Week...

We are now in the second week of school!  Yay!  We have really been working hard on getting the children used to our routines and procedures here at school.  We need your help at home!  Make sure the children have routines to follow at home as well, like a set bedtime, set meal times, set play times, story times etc.  It's also a good idea to have morning routines such as waking up at the same time everyday, getting dressed, brushing teeth, and doing all of this in a non-rushing manner.  Discuss these procedures with your child as you do them, it teaches them more than you know!  Also, discuss with them that listening to their teachers is a very important part of school!  Thanks for being such wonderful parents!

School has begun!!!

Great Night!!!

Just wanted to say thanks to all the families who came to open house tonight!  It was so great meeting all of you, and I can't wait to see you again Monday morning!  We look forward to an amazing year with your sweet little ones:)

Ready For The First Day of School!!!

Dear Families,
   I am so excited for the first day of school!  I can't believe it's right around the corner, August 15th!  This is going to be such a great year!  I look forward to meeting you all at Meet Your Teacher Night on Thursday the 11th. 
   I have created this blog for YOU, so you will be able to keep up with what's going on in our classroom and school.  I hope you use it frequently and get great use out of it.  If you have any questions feel free to ask Miss Tam or myself.
